Project Details
Modular Dungeon
A modular dungeon level layout that I assembled using my own custom kit. Includes doors, walls, floor, carpeted floor, ceilings, and decals.

Design Choices
I wanted a labyrinth that was obviously a dungeon, yet still had an air of luxury.
As such, the designs are meant to be clean. A blood red carpet, neatly ordered stone brick walls, and well maintained wooden ceilings.
On first glance there is no rotted wood, or scattered rubble. However on closer inspection other details stand out. Throughout the level you can find mold and moss growing on walls and floors. Strange symbols are painted in a color resembling rust, and no signs of life can be found.
The dungeon is still clean, but it has begun the process of deprecating. It was abandoned recently.

Level Design
This level was made as part of a school project, and as such was never intended to have any gameplay.
However while designing it, I still found myself considering how a player might move through it if it were a real level.
The level starts with a room with three closed doors, and one open door. From there it expands into several corridors and rooms that connect back into one another. The design is meant to lead you back towards the same destination no matter what path you choose.
And on the west side, I included a large chamber with a massive open space, that could be used for a boss fight.

Asset Creation
All assets in this project, besides the skybox, were created by me.
The project was modeled in Maya, with textures created in Photoshop.
I took Adobe Stock images, then used Photoshop to make them into seamless textures.
For the decal textures, they were drawn in Photoshop and created in UE5 as custom decal materials.
The project was assembled in Unreal Engine 5.
